We are sitting in an airport in Philadelphia. We should be on our way to our apartment in Warsaw, Poland. Unfortunately, yesterday afternoon we got a message that our flight to Heathrow from Cincinnati was cancelled. We were rebooked by the airlines on a flight leaving Friday, however; we are going to be doing an Angloville session starting on Sunday. (More on Angloville later.) Part of the Angloville experience is a tour and dinner on Saturday which we would miss if we take that flight.
Thom called the airlines and we were able to book the flight by flying first to Philadelphia, then Heathrow and then on to Warsaw. Just a day late (We hope as we have only completed the first leg of our journey).
We will be in Europe for three weeks, spending one of those weeks outside of Warsaw, Poland doing an Angloville. In this program, we will help participants in the program to improve their English. We will be provided structure activities and we will be staying at a small resort with our room and board provided for the week. The resort is Osada Dankow. This is the description of our accomodations:
Situated in Ostróda County, Osada Danków offers quiet accommodations in an area rich in natural beauty thanks to the nearby lakes and woodlands. The hotel provides free Wi-Fi and private parking, as well as numerous leisure activities. The rooms feature a T.V., refrigerator, and private bathroom with a shower. Guests at Osada Danków have access to a fitness centre, sauna, billiards room, volleyball court, table tennis, bicycle rentals, a library, and barbecue facilities. Guests can also enjoy kayaking, massages, and karaoke. After a long day of activities, guests can unwind at the bar.
We have gained a 5 hour layover in Philadelphia, but we planned our arrival in Warsaw to accommodate delays in our schedule. We need to be in Warsaw ready to catch the bus to Osada Dankow with the other English speakers and the participants in the Program, Sunday morning at 9 am.
After Angloville, we have a loosely planned trip from Warsaw to Porto, Portugal by train and bus; hitting some cities in Germany, France and Spain along the way. Stay tunned for more...
