Porter!!!...

Friday was a first full day in Arlington.  Jason and Kristy left around 2 pm to catch their flight.  They are doing a Disney Cruise through the Panama Canal.  Porter is the dog we will be watching for the next 2 + weeks.   Porter is a black lab mix and is 1 1/2 years old.  She is still a bit of a pup and Kristy and Jason have warned us that she will chew things and counter surf in the kitchen for food.  We will have to keep things out of her reach.

Their house is very nice and is a short walk to stores, restaurants, and the bus station.  We walked with Porter to the bus station to get our bus and metro cards. We walked back past the street with restaurants and shops in Shirlington and then got back for lunch.   It rained in the afternoon, so we didn't do much else except to get settled in.  Jason and Kristy have given us some suggestions for shows and we have a few lined up.

We decided to watch a movie during dinner and Thom left his burger on the kitchen counter while he was starting the movie.  When he got back in the kitchen, the burger was gone and Porter was scurrying out of the kitchen.

Saturday, we took a long walk along Four Mile Creek, which is a tributary of the Potomac.  There are trails on either side of Four Mile Creek.  So we walked back on the other side of the river.  We stopped to do a little shopping along the way.    It was around 8 miles.   Alex and Augie came over for a short playdate when we got back.  After that, Porter was pretty tired the rest of the evening.

The house here is very nice and spacious.  The backyard is nice and Porter is fairly well behaved for a young dog.  This should be a very nice stay.
